Was there a time in the 90s when Ghostbusters wasn't very cool?

I know that for a time Ghostbusters was an inherently 80s property. I remember in the 90s I was super obsessed with Ghostbusters as a kid. As I went into 5th, 6th grade, etc. I remember other kids poking fun at me for liking Ghostbusters. "Ooohhh Ghostbusters I used to have Ghostbusters underoos ha ha ha!" this was like late 90s early 2000s. Was there a time in the 90s when Ghostbusters just "went out of style"?
