Many people report crying at Ghiblie movies, but I've noticed that a lot of people say they've cried at very different moments. I think almost all Ghibli movies have a special knack for getting under people's skin and are very relatable, immediately becoming very special to people and touching them, but for very different reasons. For instance, I didn't cry much at Grave of the Fireflies (I did cry though), but I could barely contain myself for the latter part of Princess Mononoke. I also cried during one beautiful safflower picking scene during Only Yesterday (but not the end).
Anyway, I'm curious to hear what interesting moments others cried at or had big emotional responses to. What scenes/moments have affected you the most?
