When I was a kid I was watching an old VHS tape for “Air Bud: Golden Receiver” at my grandmothers. It had a trailer for a movie which seemed like no other animated film I’d seen called “Castle in the Sky”. The trailer in hindsight doesn’t do the movie justice but as a kid this movie had an allure I couldn’t explain, the trailer was electric. This was my introduction to Ghibli. However I never watched the film until years later when my Dad purchased it on DVD. What’s weird is that the trailer says it will be on VHS in 1999, and it stars the actors from the Disney dub we’re familiar with, but all sources indicate that Disney released it in 2003. So what happened to this VHS? Was it advertised but just never made? The opening to the VHS is in the comments
