I've been pumping for about a month now. I bought an electronic air pump from ebay with a digital pressure gauge for about $30. It has two modes: one where it pumps/releases in intervals and a second where it just pumps and holds. I initially started off with the interval mode because I thought it would be an easier transition into things but it actually feels like I'm hurting my dick more than the pump and hold.
I have a fwb and pump on the days immediately after she leaves. I stop pumping one day before she comes over. There was one time where I pumped before she came over and it definitely felt like it affected performance. But now with the rest day before she comes over everything has been great. I need to be more precise and measure everything but I don't want to obsess over it more than I already do.
My routine is pretty intense compared to what I've read so far. I basically pump for an hour each night before going to sleep. It feels great and helps me satisfy my relentless sex drive without masturbating. I use vaseline to coat the edges to make a nice air seal.
I just recently bought a bathmate and have used a few times over the past few days. I plan to use it in the morning and have been keeping the pump time down below 10min.
