Post Body

Hey people. I am in Germany with a high qualified work permit (not a blue card) and recently I have lost my ID card and I am in the process of changing my employer.

Once I am less than 2 years in Germany I need to get a new work permit from the KVR, I had some delays in my process and I think I won’t be able to get the work permit before my start date (probably it will delay in 1 week).

Here are questions:

  1. The company didn’t ask if I already have my work permit and they’re expecting me to be there on the 1st of February. Should I inform them the situation or could I start with them already? (I fear losing the job or not getting enough money for paying my rent).

  2. For getting the new work permit do I need the ID card? I have filled a police report about the loss but probably I will only have a new one in around 2 months.

  3. Once I work in tech (I am a UX Designer), I have a bachelors degree of 5 year, more than 3 years of experience and my new salary will be higher than 60k€, can I switch to the EU Blue Card? When should I start the process for it? After getting the new ID?

Thanks a lot for support.
