Took her to the vet to remove a bothersome tooth, and they took this picture of her just as she woke up from surgery. <3 Apparently, she didn't yet have control of her tongue and they used a water bottle to keep it from drying out. So cute. The later pictures show the tooth that was removed.

It would be around $850. I'm not in the US though, so I don't know how much sense it makes to compare.
But yeah, expensive. I could probably have gotten it for less elsewhere. But at least they did a thorough examination and x-ray of the entire mouth, professional cleaning, and they did an excellent job with anaesthesia for an older dog who has previously had trouble waking up after surgery. Last time, it took two hours before she could use her hind legs but now they adjusted a bit to avoid that and she woke up quickly and easily, even though she was of course still affected for a while.
They also put a heart on her bandage and while that may be standard, I feel that it matches how lovingly they always treat her. And we can afford it. So I'm not upset about it.
Picture taken just after we came home, showing the little heart.
