I asked her to please stop pawing at me while I was eating. She went and pouted on the couch, making a point to face away from me.

So cute!
Mine does that when we're about to go for a walk, and I try to get the leash on her.
Tends to amuse/surprise guests.

I just told my partner last night they are like little children.
Different situation, though - nine year old dog "forgot" on the evening walk that she needs permission to walk out the door so I reminded her, she went back in, sat very nicely and waited while my partner pulled a bit on the leash so she had to struggle to stay in place, then she got the ok and we called her a good girl and she came out and jumped on us as if to celebrate and ask for more praise. (Which she got, of course.)
