Sorry, hyped up a little...Charlie wakes me to go outside. I live out in the country and he just runs free. I am waiting a couple minutes by the door and open it up to whistle for him. I hear him running and growling...I'm thinking skunk or racoon. I go in the garage a bit and I'm shining my phone light out towards the field and started seeing multiple sets of eyes with one even coming towards me! I realized it was a pack of coyotes. Charlie broke from the chase when I was going out and yelled for him. We went back inside and I grabbed the machete and shotgun. When we went back out, they were gone.

Most night I will let him out and go lay back down until he lets himself back in...then I get back up and close the door. That could have have turned into a bad situation...back to sleep.
