Nosework?

My GSD has slowed down a bit in her middle age so I’m looking to supplement our walks with some other type of activity since she doesn’t like long runs more often than not anymore. She loves sniffing things so I’m thinking maybe nosework would be fun for her. If you’ve tried nosework with your dog could you share your experience (e.g., did your dog enjoy it and did it end up being a good outlet for their energy?) and any tips on how to get into it?
