For the sake of argument, let’s say that a war breaks out between Israel and either Egypt or Jordan. That could happen after their take-over by a militant group (akin to Black September) or if they become failed states that Palestinian terrorists use to launch attacks at Israel. An uprising, similar to the Second Intifada, starts in the Occupied Palestinian Territories with mass support from the civilian population. Viewing it as an existential threat, the Israeli military pushes Palestinian out of the West Bank / Gaza across the border. Let’s assume that there are no massacres, that Israel allows people to take their belongings with them and even agrees to provide financial support to help with their resettlement.
What happens now? * Will Israel survive the war that the entire Muslim world would likely declare on it? * Will the U.N. or NATO authorise a military intervention, such as the bombing of Belgrade in 1999? * Will Israel become an international pariah and perish under economic sanctions? * Will a civil war break out within Israel between hardliners and leftists / Israeli Arabs? * Will there be a huge uptick in antisemitism globally that would prompt the Jewish diaspora to drop their support of Israel?
