Please give me some advice on the best way to get into this career given my situations, ty so much
Post Body

I would like to start by saying that I really, really need and appreciate your advice, and I am extremely grateful for any suggestions. I am a university student studying in Ontario, Canada; my current undergraduate program is Math. Due to my major requirements, the course load is fairly full; in addition, I am an international student, and I really cannot afford to transfer my major right now. I know that this is not a easy-access career, and I must have academic qualifications. Therefore, I have been thinking about a few options. The first is to take all PGO required courses. The main concern of this plan is that it takes significantly longer to graduate, and since I am an international student, there might be extra process for my study permit. The second one is to take a few extra courses, and try to get in grad school with a Geo concentration. My concern for this plan is whether grad school is willing to admit me without a Geo undergraduate degree, only with some Geo courses. The third plan is to get a second bachelor, or enroll in Geotech diplomas offered by colleges in Ontario; again I am a bit concerned about the study permit, and I am not sure whether this option makes me academically qualified since I won’t have PGO certification if I choose this option. Which one would you say is most doable and also qualifies for some jobs? I am honestly anxious and sad. I want to get into this career and I have a passion for it since I was a kid. But I don’t know what to do and how to prepare myself for jobs. Exploration, GIS, O&G…… which field has high demand in Ontario and/or Canada? And I want to thank again for anyone reading this, thank you. I feel like this is the last chance for me to try to work towards my dream, and I want to make it happen.
