Feeling lost, Need some advice on where to go from here (Third-year Undergrad geology major)
Post Body

Hey guys, I am a third-year undergraduate student studying for my B.S in Geology, I'm planning on graduating a semester early, so I've really only got a year left till I'm done. I want to follow through and get my M.S at a different university, but I'm really lost on the processes.

I've spoken to some older students, and they said their process involved just emailing tons of professors from other universities on their research projects, and asking to join. The issue is I'm not really sure what there is beyond this.

The GRE is a clear obstacle, that I can tackle, but where to go from there? I definitely want to continue with geology, and I have interest in mining and mineral resources, what sort of places should I look at? What did you guys find helpful? Any and all advice is welcome!
