So, the company I am working for is a geologic research firm in Bratislava Slovakia, and I am looking for one maybe 2 more people for a summer internship. I am trying to cultivate a very international work environment and I will be accepting applications from around the world. The catch though, is that as we are a non-profit research firm, we are unable to pay for any expenses :(. However, we are accredited in the US and also for some European systems so school credit and scholarships may be up for grabs. Slovakia is very cheap, so living expenses are really quite minimum (I'm talking like, 60 euro a month for rent).
The summer internship is a 3 month program in which I will teach you the basics of ArcGIS, Petrel, CorelDraw, Kingdom Suite as well as various other programs as they are needed. The Bratislava branch specializes in tectonics, sedimentology and geochemistry, so people in those fields will be filed to the top.
We already have 1 intern coming from the U.S. and another from Spain. Our group here consists of Slovaks and 1 American (me), so the opportunity to meet people you never would meet normally is excellent here.
We are only taking the best of the best as I don't want to have someone come over here, find out the beer and ladies are awesome and disappear on a 3 month bender. It's a hard internship, but it is completely worth it (in my opinion, of course).
If you are interested, please contact me for more details!
edit Hey guys, so the internship language is English and experience can range from 2nd year undergrad to Ph.D. It's not so much the education I'm interested in, it's the ability to learn and have self motivation that I will require. Thanks! There are so many e-mails, so bear with me :)
