Is there any similar job occupations that involves studying/monitoring/ or working with volcanoes besides being a volcanologist? Iām curious to know if there are other job paths because volcanologist jobs are very low demand.
Natural hazards insurance.
Mineral exploration for hydrothermal/volcanogenic ore deposits or metal-rich brines.
Disaster management and planning. This is usually a government job but I'm sure there's some companies that act as consultants or contractors.
But for jobs that involve boots on the ground monitoring of active volcanoes for volcano observatories then you're pretty much limited to government or academic volcanologist roles.
