Have they gotten rid of the super cute animations? What happened in the last update?

Had the time of my life trying out GeoGuessr for the first time in years the other day.
I return this week to find that all the super yummy animations have gone!!!!!! Is it more or did they replace 3d rendered icons with super lame PNGs when you're going through trips?
Also, my sound doesn't work!
