Resources for making “smart” gadget caches?
Post Body

Greetings fellow cachers! I have been working on seeding my city with new caches to revitalize the caching community here, and so far my hides have gone very well! But I want to do more...

I, like the rest of you, see all kinds of electronic gadget caches on YouTube that look like a blast to build and find. There is no one around here that makes caches like that, and I would love to be able to provide my area with that kind of cache. I was wondering if anyone had any good websites for learning the different aspects of these caches? Which language is best for coding simple games and puzzles like this, stores for buying boards and electronic components, tips for building the devices, etc. I am comfortable with soldering and such, but I have no experience in coding or building electronic components like what would be required for a cache puzzle. Hope this isn’t too vague and I know you can’t build something like this overnight, but any help would be appreciated!

Edit: I’m pretty sure Raspberry Pi will be a solution to this, but I have no idea how to program a Pi or if/how it could be used in a cache puzzle. Anyone with experience in this, I would greatly appreciate some tips.
