A few weeks ago, I was on holidays in a new town and exploring the area I had a thought to check the geocaching app. As the place I was at was a touristy spot, ofcourse there was a cache there. Being that we were travelling I had emptied my purse of everything other than keys and cards. I wasn't planning on caching, so I didn't have a pen. 1st mistake i know now. Anyways, after a while just after the sun set found it. I searched my bag and realised I didn't have a pen. I walk back and I check the hire car. No pen! No shops around to purchase or other people to ask to loan one. It's dark now and I'm determined to properly log this cache. It's a nano with one of those teensy tiny log sheets rolled up inside. I didn't want to ruin the log by stabbing it with a twig (potentially tearing the log sheet in half its thats narrow) or the likes so I did what I thought was the next best thing. I unrolled the log so they could see it was theirs and I also had the actual cache in my hand. I quickly took a photo and sent with a message to the CO. I got a reply a few days later actually telling me to "Use blood next time" what the heck? I thought that was a bit much? 😳 So I spose the point of my post is, what's the strangest response you've received when you've found yourself without a pen 😂
