Dominance is a variable definition in personality traits, notably in neuroticism and conscientiousness. However, most first world cultures perceive externalized emotion as "louder", and therefore "stronger and greater"; something that can be seen and more easily defined on instinct.
There seems to be a disagreement in more vocal, generalized D/s communities that state: people who appear shy and timid are unquestionably submissive, and bombastic, bubbly personalities are obviously dominant. Again, this could merely be the instinctual perception from external describers, but what is your experience with the extroversion of yourself and others in regards to femdom? Are there exceptions on a bell curve, or is it evenly anyone can be whatever? Does maturity (or lack of) askew or clear a person's relationship lead? Can a person transition from pure dominance to submission and vice versa (not becoming a switch)?
