I have two ways of expressing my gender identity. The first one is “I’m a forty-something year old gay man trapped in a woman’s body”, this one I have been told is more accurate. The second one is “I’m a Dad despite obviously being a very small lady”. The more I think about my gender the more confused I get. I have some body dysphoria just due to the societal standards of literally every race, sex, and career choice. The rest of my anger for my body is having to tailor all my clothes or look like a shaggy dog of a person. I was born female but was raised by only boys so, of course, I had to be a tomboy. Now I’m much more comfortable in a female aesthetic but my personality is much more masculine than the traditional “lady”.
