Wondering how the Twitch/VOD stuff works.

Hey! Kinda new here to the geek and sundry/critical role/Nerdist community (Yes, I know that Critical Role is separate now). I wanna watch past shows/series they did, found out about alpha, and then found out alpha was shut down. Is all of the content from alpha on twitch now? If so, when they say it's VOD for subscribers, does that mean you have to pay to subscribe to geek and sundry's twitch before you can even see the content? Thanks for the help!
