Hello, I'm considering making a GDPR rectification request to Discord, do you think I have valid grounds to do that? Some backstory:My Discord account was hacked and stolen. So I contacted Discord support and they refuse to give it back to me because they say they have "strict security and privacy policies". I believe I have all the necessary evidence to prove that I am the owner of the account. So would it be a valid request that Discord would have to act on if I try to make a rectification request to change the email of the account back to my own email? And would I also be able to request two-factor authentication to be removed from my account if the person who stole my account put two-factor authentication on my account?
If my rectification request is invalid would a GDPR information request and after that, a GDPR deletion request maybe work? I don't have access to the user but I have things to prove that I am at least the previous owner of the user evidence of this includes: screenshots of me being on the user, receipts from Discord of things I have bought from them, me having access to the original email address that registered the Discord account.
I believe that I should at least be able to make a GDPR deletion request as I have personal messages on my Discord account (With personal identifying content such as full name, date of birth, address etc.)
What would your take be on this? Do you think I will succeed with this request? Or should I try something else to delete or get my account back?
Edit: After about a year with Discord support I have finally gotten my account back.
