Today, I learned that an ex bf and best friend had taken his own life.

We dated 14 - 16 years ago. I was around 35. He was 18.

After the break up we went our own ways but remained friends. Multiple texts and calls per day slowed down. Over the later years we stayed in touch by Facebook mostly.

I know he had experienced loss, but he seemed his happy self.

I have no idea why he made this choice. What I do know is someone kind, intelligent and successful has now moved on, when he had so much joy left to give.

The world is better with your beauty engaged. No matter how much pain you might be in, it can’t compare to the pain felt by those who love you if you take your life.

And, today I resolve to be even more intentional about telling those I love how much I care about them, more often.
