Hi everyone!

There's a lot of demand for a place where older and younger men can make contact with each other for dates or hookups or whatever. There are a few posts like this every week in this subreddit. To meet this demand, /r/GYOdating is now open for all your dating & hookup & chat requests.

You'll notice that subreddit is restricted to text posts. It's not sufficient to link to a selfie and say "Let's hook up!" You can include a link to a photo as part of your post, but you need to write something about who you are and who you're looking for.

Meanwhile, /r/GYOPics is going strong. It's getting about one post per day, and that keeps growing.

And of course /r/GayYoungOld itself just keeps going from strength to strength. We have nearly 25,000 subscribers (up from 14,000 just 6 months ago), and about 80 new people are subscribing every day. More than 2,000 people visit this subreddit every single day.

Despite the list of names in the moderator list, I'm pretty much the only active moderator. Two of those mods are in the list because they moderate our Discord channel – but they have no interest in moderating Reddit. One of the mods is fairly inactive. And there's one "elder statesman" on the list, who's no longer active. That leaves me as the main active moderator, and I'd like some help. It's time to add more moderators.

I'm looking for people who are interested in moderating these three subreddits: /r/GayYoungOld, /r/GYOPics, /r/GYOdating.

The duties aren't onerous. Despite the level of traffic here, the people are mostly well behaved. There's only about one or two items that require moderator attention per day. But having more moderators across more time zones would allow us to respond in a more timely manner (I can't moderate when I'm sleeping!).

You don't need moderator experience. I can teach you the technical skills required for moderating.

You do need a calm head and a thick skin. You need to be articulate. You need to have a history of constructive participation in this subreddit. You need to be on Reddit regularly (I'd like to see moderators active in this subreddit at least a few times per week). And, you need to care about keeping /r/GayYoungOld a welcoming place for gay men to talk about age-disparate relationships.
