How do you take care of your older partner?
Post Body

Well first and foremost, he’s not my partner and we’re just best friends of over 3 years. (Wish it were more but I respect him)

We live in different cities now but used to hangout together when we were in the same city and I visit him from time to time now.

He is someone who refuses to get help from somebody but loves it very much when I help him around the house when I’m with him.

He’s been feeling sick lately after his recent travel. He says he’s fine but hearing his voice and saying things like he’s white as a piece of paper really scares me and I wanna help and be there for him. I am worried. If I could do anything I would send him DoorDash so he doesn’t have to get up and cook or drive for a take out. He refuses any of that.

I’m sure this pattern is common among the older partners in this sub and I need some ideas to overcome my best friend’s feeling guilty or shame or whatever it is to get help because now is not the time.
