Hi r/gaysian,

This post is in regard to research being conducted through the University of Victoria (Human Research Ethics Board approved; HREB# 18-1079). I am hoping to have as diverse a sample as possible, and think that r/gaysian subscribers may have unique perspectives and experiences.

Questions will inquire about sexual stigma in your family environment while growing up, your current perceptions of sexual stigma, feelings about your sexual orientation, experiences of shame, and current psychological well being. The data will be used for my honours thesis and a poster presentation. I would also be more than happy to share the results and have an open discussion following the conclusion of the study.

All data collected is 100% anonymous (and stored in Canada, AKA not liable to the Patriot Act) and there are two options for participation compensation: (1) chance to be entered in a lottery for a chance to win an Amazon gift card, OR (2) make a donation to charity.
