Mental health resources for rural people
Post Body

This was inspired by a recent post of resources for Ontario farmers.

I am NOT looking for specific gay resources. Gayness is an amplifying affect.

I am recovering from childhood trauma. It slept for decades, and has surfaced and is making my life.... interesting. Go stalk my profile and read my MANY posts on the CPTSD subs. (And if you are a skinny twink in north central alberta, chat with me...)

Several times in the last couple weeks, I've had people suggest, "Just get out there"

How do I do that?

I'm 11 km from the nearest village. No idea how to find a kindred spirit there.

I'm 25 km from the nearest town. 1200 people. See above comment.

I've 60 km from the nearest larger town -- 30,000 Ok. they show up on sites like grindr.

I'm 100 km from the nearest city. That city, with over a half million people has 1 gay night club, no gay bars, no gay coffee spots.

"Get involved with the local community."

Fine.

Run for school board? If you are out, you go from queer to pedophile in one step.

Get on the libarry committee? You will get extra crap for every controversial book.

Join the volunteer fire department. "Let's have a gay roast"
