Sorry for the cheesy title.. Anyway I have an incredible friend. We've known each other for about five hears and we've wanted to date several times along the way, it just didn't work then because I was in the military and we agreed nothing long distance. Anyway we talked about dating again and I drove the three hours to see him (trust me it's worth it and I'd go every day if I could) so we kinda hooked up. He broke up with his bf and I wanted to give him a few days of being single before I officially asked even though we'd talked about it and he knew I wanted to ask him but his (now ex) boyfriend showed up and started trying to get a second chance, which he gave him on the last night I was there in the hospital. He told me he still wants to date me and I will get my chance but he wants to give current bf a chance to fix things (SEVERE trust issues, current bf has) so my question is do I wait until he messes up and be there to put my handsome man back together again or just go on with my life and try to ignore the fact that I love someone else?

(edit: I should add they broke up the first time BC the bf tried to force him to cut me out of his life and obviously were good friends)
