I'm not really sure if this is the correct place to post this, but hey-ho!
I'm currently studying video game art and animation in university and one of my modules is Advanced Game Studies in which we have have to analyse video games, the culture of games, and the state of the video game industry.
Anyway, my current essay is a paper on the inclusivity and heteronormative ideas found within video games, the main focus being Monster Prom, though reference to other games is allowed to a certain extent. I'm currently running dry on topics to discuss regarding how heteronormativity affects lgbtq inclusion and representation (such as how the idea of prom itself is pretty dang cis-het thing).
So I'm wondering if any of you fine peoples have any talking points in which I could use to hopefully spark some kind of inspiration in me! Preferably about Monster Prom if possible, but I'll gladly take any input regarding other games which have lgbtq themes with underlying heteronormative ideals.
Thank you in advance! (and apologies if this is not allowed!!)
