How do you get in the cage without any pinching?

Hi all, I had a cage, but it was too big so I got a smaller cage. My dick is very small only 1-2 inches flaccid and maybe 3-4 errect. I’m a bigger guy so there is so fat and extra skin around my dick. Are there any tricks to make sure I don’t pinch my little chub when I’m putting the cage on. Alternatively, is the cage too small and I need to start all over? Thanks!
