How to handle retraction in colder climates?

I live in Canada and the weather is just starting to turn. In colder weather my guy likes to retract pretty deeply into the pelvic region which the cage clearly doesn’t allow. Being an outdoor guy who enjoys being outdoors in all weather, I don’t want the irritation being caused by the tendency to want to retract leading to less enjoyment of the outdoors. Any suggestions on what to do to elevate this?
