Do you consider someone being cut off from family a red flag?

I live by myself and my parents live far away and I almost don't talk to them because of abuse and abandonment. It hasn't been a long time since I came out but ever since I've been trying to get out there, I wonder if this part of me would come off as a red flag. And yes I do get jealous of people who have perfect families and sad that I don't have any but then I try to have friends for family.
