The Kevin Hart controversy in my opinion is showing how little people actually care on addressing past mistakes and issues. Kevin stated he'd be a failure if HIS KID turned out gay. He "joked" he'd beat him for playing with the wrong toys. Only eight and a half years ago. (people are having no problem making it seem like a decade ago). The "It gets better campaign" was already well formulated for the specific reason of giving lgbt youth any ounce of hope they could find due to the feeling of unacceptance and that lonesome feeling most of the lgbt community knows. Kevin Hart wasn't the only one saying these things but theres no denying he was and still is a major voice. That being said HE NEVER APOLOGIZED he never addressed this mistep head on. Saying you're improving and changing doesn't mean anything if you don't address the issue. Now people on reddit are mad and upvoting any post that deligitmizes our complaints. We complained and now reddit is seemingly laughing at this community BeCAuSE iT WaS in THe PaSt. The message i'm getting is "get over the fact he attacked lgbt identity in youths, it was a while ago". This reaction is just saddening. Maybe i'm just misunderstanding. I believe people can change but I need trust with verfication and therse been anything but with this guy. How do you bros feel?
