Straight Guys Assume Im into Them
Post Body

Really frustrated with this one. Sit next to a couple interesting guys in my class. Whenever I say anything that can *remotely* be considered sexual, they assume Im trying to flirt. If Im anxious when talking before class, they assume Im nervous because Im talking to a 'crush.' Im anxious because I started new medication, and being back in school terrifies me- last quarter I failed or dropped every class. Im not romantically or sexually interested in either of them, and I dont know how the fuck to make that clear to them while also attempting to pursue a friendship.

On the first day of class I was excited to get to know one of em (B) cause we have a similar vibe and I had a hunch we'd get along. He picked up that I was gay from my mannerisms/speech, and by the end of class he'd made it clear that hes straight. I could already tell?? Why would I want someone who by default wouldn't want me?? Weird. On Monday I invited B to study Wednesday for our test. B said maybe, ask me again that day. In the middle of class one of the guys passed a note to B, and B responded by whispering "I dont like dick." At the end of class I asked B if he was gonna study, he said "not this time, but theres plenty of other opportunities before the test"

Here's what Im thinking:

if we end up getting to hang out outside class, I'll tell him straight up "Part of being gay means that straight men assume youre into them, even when youre really really not. It's frustrating, like, why would I want to fuck someone who doesnt want to fuck me? I wanna make it clear I dont have ulterior motives, Im just tryna get to know you"

On the other hand, dunno if there'll be an opportunity to say something like that or to get to know him outside class. In that case, what would be class-appropriate to say which would indicate Im not interested and that theyre misinterpreting?
