I use Grindr for browsing and occasionally hook-ups.
On Grindr I usually block my (real life) friends, work colleagues and other non-sexual acquaintances. Because I feel awkward to ‘bump into’ them on Grindr and I don’t want to see when they’re online and I don’t want them to see my profile (or vice versa). For me Grindr is not a means to socialize with friends. Once I get to know someone I exchange numbers or social media and communicate there.
Now my friend recently found out I blocked him, cause he made a new Grindr profile. He got so upset and felt turned down that he blocked me on WhatsApp and Instagram😳, cause he sees Grindr as social media….
For context: he is very non-sexual and never hooks-up or has dates and uses Grindr to browse (he also never replies to messages from guys).
Am I totally wrong here for not using Grindr as a way to keep in touch with ‘real life friends’? Or is he a drama queen?
