I've noticed that a lot of people seem to think the average GPA of undergrads at Georgia Tech is very low, but I haven't gotten such impressions based on my friends who tell me about their grades. I've done some searching online, and most averages they have seem to be institute-wide, but I have found on the fact book where there are average GPAs for "lower level" and "upper level" undergrad classes; I don't think graduate students take a ton of undergrad classes, so I assume these would reflect on us. It says that the average grades for undergrad classes are 3.30 and 3.31 for lower and upper level classes respectively in Fall 2015. However, looking at the Greek Affairs report for Fall 2015 it says the average GPA for undergrads is 3.2. What on earth? Are enough graduate/professional education people taking undergrad classes enough to boost the average an entire .1 points? Is Greek Affairs giving us #FakeNews? Has this average gone up significantly since then, since the CoE average GPA went from 3.27 to 3.32 since then? Maybe I should talk to some admins.
