I always loved cardio even before surgery because it was something I enjoyed doing when I struggled with my eating disorder. I learned I for what ever reason didn't tire from cardio until long after I greatly over did it. Before surgery I was forced to go through eating disorder therapy but exercise was never really addressed.
After surgery my surgeon told me I could do as much cardio as I wanted while not knowing my history but I was really excited. So I permitted myself to go nuts, the more I did the happier I got until I started injuring myself.
At one point early on I caused internal bleeding, later ended up ripping my top left ab muscle which hurt so incredibly bad. I injured my right collarbone which I couldn't lay down for 4 days and I couldn't sleep on my right side and breath at the same time for a few weeks. I've hurt my back, my ankle.. needless to say I eventually dialed it back and calmed tf down. I still do way more cardio then my nutritionist wants me to do but the injuries (mostly) have stopped.
Anyone else go overboard with exercise post op?
