Are NSAIDs really never to be used ever again the rest of our lives?
Post Body

I learned thru reddit and Facebook that the plan my surgeon had me on was really at the extreme end for everything. So I was wondering if she was being extreme by saying that I can never take another NSAID the rest of my life because she made it sound like I will spontaneously spawn ulcers all throughout my guts

My other doctors (ortho, pcp) do not seem as worried as she. My ortho gave me Naprosyn when I had knee surgery, and my pcp gave me today methocarbomol for a back injury (waiting to be scheduled for mri)

Have any of you taken any nsaid and for how long of a period? Did ulcers show up?

I’m three years post op and I take them Daily as prescribed - was never told to stay off them. Tablets only; and they must be coated. Also no generic tablets as “you don’t know what fillers or shit they put in them otherwise they would look exactly the same” according to one of my surgeons. I live with chronic pain due to injuries, pins and plates.

I haven’t had any issues; I’m due for a double ended scope soon anyway to check the progress of a seperate issue so I guess they’ll check the status of my sleeve while I’m in there
