Lawn alternatives for mixed climate.
Post Body

Hi there,

Where I live we have hot summers and cold winters. I just bought a house with a medium sized garden and all of the grass is completely scorched & over-run with nettles and brambles. I'm in the process of pulling them all out and very little grass will be left when I'm done.

I'd like to put in a hardy lawn or ground cover of some kind that doesn't need to be grass. I'd really like some flowers or aromatic plants in there too. It'd need to be something that could deal with the seasonal fluctuations and that I don't need to water constantly during summer. Any suggestions?
