This year, we didn't get to plant corn - the rototiller is an ancient beast and nothing I could handle, I'm just not strong enough. So we've been talking about expanding the garden to include another raised bed especially intended for corn next year, but since none of us are what we'd call experienced in cultivating it, I'm hoping to get some help from the knowledgeable, experienced people here, if y'all are willing?
1 - What should the dimensions of the box be for best results? Our existing raised beds are 4 x 8, filled with topsoil mixed with peat moss.
2 - How much should we plant? We are hoping to cultivate enough that on harvesting, we'd have enough ears not only to eat but can/preserve.
3 - Should the planting be staggered in terms of when each row is sowed?
Any other advice and counsel is welcomed! Thank you in advance!
