Safe alternatives for Chia Pet

Hi everyone! So my friend is allergic to buckwheat (which I wasn't aware of) when I got him a chia pet for Christmas last year. Since chia seeds are part of the buckwheat family, he had to throw the whole container away. But he still like the idea of a chia pet for his apartment. What's a safe, non buckwheat plant, that would work well in a chia pet pot? Any suggestions are apprecaited!
