I have no fence and my backyard is a forest. How do I grow stuff without it being eaten?
Post Body

So, like the title says, I have no fence in my back yard. My backyard also backs up into a pretty big forest area, it's pretty dense and if you go about a mile out from my backyard, you hit a lake. I do live in a subdivision, but deer and other animals are pretty common in my area.

I'm a new homeowner and I love to cook. I would love to grow my own veggies (mostly Tabasco peppers) in my backyard, but I have absolutely 0 gardening experience, and I'm slightly paranoid that the wildlife from the forest will eat everything I'm trying to grow.

Also, I'm only home two days a week, so I can't really tend or take care of my plants. I have automatic sprinklers, but I'm not sure if that's enough.
