Allow me to explain:
Plants give me a sense of hope, and in a way, they teach us all a lot about life and dealing with change.
Every time a flower blooms or a plant has reached its peak, you get to experience such beauty, such a wonderful moment of joy. All that hard work you put in has paid off, and you can relish in it.
But as we all know, these times can only last so long, and eventually, you'll see the blooms start to fade and wither, or watch the plant as a whole die off. To me, this teaches me to appreciate all the little things and the nice times we have before they inevitably fade off. It teaches me to let go, as in many cases there is absolutely nothing you can do other than let nature take its course.
The nice part about this is that in some cases, you accept that the blooms have passed, and then continue on and take care of the plant, and keep on waiting until suddenly you start to watch those little buds appear. Then you get excited for the next moment you get to see all that hard work pay off and appreciate yourself as well as what nature has rewarded you with.
Even when they never come back, you can still appreciate the good times you had and be thankful for them.
Plants have taught me a lot. They give me a reason to get up and to keep going when I feel like it. Because I'm not going to skip out on watering them when I know they need it. These things are a responsibility and they teach me how to be more responsible.
I struggle a lot with depression, with learning to accept and let things go, especially with some pretty sad recent events. But it's thanks to my plants that I keep going, and wait for the next "bloom" in life.
