I'm growing 30ish sunflowers that need to be sprayed by a number of mixtures to control for pest and fungi, and I'm wondering if I'm doing either too much, or doing it improperly. Today I was spraying a baking soda, soap, and water solution on the leaves to treat powdery mildew, and it took me around two or so hours. My process was to hit each leaf till it was dripping wet, and then do the same with the underside, and repeat for every. Single. Plant. I was using a hand spray bottle which I feel certain wasn't the best choice (anything that would be an improvement over this I'm begging to know), but more than anything am I being too tedious? For instance if I had a hand sprayer, and went over the leaves with a general sweep until the plant was dripping, would this be enough to treat my powdery mold problem? What things and techniques can I use to make this less difficult, or is this just the standard timeframe for applying a treatment to that many plants? ANY help or advice would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks in advance!
