Lemon trees winter?

I started a few lemon seeds a few weeks ago and growing well, I know it's late in the season but seeing as though they take a year or so to start fruiting I thought why not.
My question is can lemon trees eventually handle frost? I know I'll need to keep them inside this winter but will I need to keep bringing them inside every winter? Will they be able to handle it like other trees after a certain time?
Total newbie here just looking for a bit of advice
