Need Help Regarding "Blue Lake Pole Beans"
Post Body

Hello /r/gardening!

backstory

Over the spring and summer, I have been working on a small garden in Eastern Kansas, on a small island in the middle of a little lake. After fencing a wattle fence around the parameter, I put down some mulch and planted some Blue Lake Pole beans, Spaghetti Squash, and some Zucchini. However, I have not been having the best of luck. We have been having quite a spectacle of rain this year, and the garden has been under a few inches of water a couple of times this year. However, even though it was able to stand off most of the weather, my beans are starting to turn yellow, and are having their leaves fall off, while my Zucchini and Spaghetti squash still seem fine.

(tl;dr created a garden this sprng & summer, have had it flooded a few times, and I am now starting to see the beans turn yellow and having their leaves fall off)

question

So I was wondering what y'all think is causing it. Do you think it is some type of insect eating at the beans, too much rain, or a combination of both? Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this? According to the local forecast, we are are supposed to have 5 days of rain next week. Do you think there is anything I can do to help protect the beans from drowning during those 5 days?

Thank you so much! :)
