Ok, I got a seed to root, no problem. Planted it in a pot, everything's going great. Got my first 3 leaves- Yay!
But since then (a few months ago) this has been the pattern- it gets the 3 leaves and they look great for awhile. The those leaves start to brown on the edges (no yellowing). About the time they get halfway shriveled but are already a lost cause, the next 3 tiny leaves are sprouting above it.
It's weird. It's like the plant only wants to have a certain number of leaves. It's gotten to be about 15 inches tall this way, but won't keep it's leaves. I've made sure it's in well drained soil. I heard they are very salt intolerant so using our tap water, I add a bit of vinegar to it.
Can anyone help? I have read all I can find online but it's all info on either getting the seed started or tending a large tree. I did get the info about the vinegar from a forum but no one can seem to find a reason for the leaf limit on mine.
