I'm a landscaper and one of the properties I service has a row of beautiful mature Japanese maples. I've been weeding the beds the trees are in all year and pull dozens of Japanese maple seedlings. They are only a few inches tall and the roots come right out when I pull em.
I've decided to let them be and start collecting them. How should I go about keeping them alive as I transport them from the property back to my house? I could just repot them right away (already planning on that), but I was hoping there was a safe way to just pluck them out the ground and keep em safe while I finish my day and repot them once I get home.
