Hello! I've been playing through and really enjoying Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, especially the "Nemesis System", and being able to recruit orcs/uruks to my side. I enjoy being able to assign them targets to assassinate that they can then go fight on their own, with a chance to succeed or fail. I also enjoy being able to go assist them, and likewise call them to assist me.
I enjoy that their stats and movesets are "procedurally generated" and that they can be upgraded. I also love that they can betray me lol. It gives each one a sense of personality, and makes for a very enjoyable experience, especially within the narrative.
Cult of the Lamb and the Kingdoms games seem interesting, but both appear to be on opposite ends of lacking combat with your recruits, and I'm not sure how much of either is procedurally generated. I've dabbled a bit with Darkest Dungeon, and while awesome, it does not seem that I can send units out on missions on their own.
While I prefer to only issue commands, I am open to assuming direct control of the recruits as well.
What are some other games with a story where I can recruit procedurally generated units that "feel alive" who can not only fight for me, but also with me?
Suggestions of all genres on all platforms are most appreciated!
