RPGs with a lot of unique enemies?

I'd like to get into a game that has a bunch of different kinds of monsters to fight. I'd prefer if it were DnD-esque, with things like beholders and dragons to fight.
Edit: I should probably say that I don't mind older games like Baldur's Gate and whatnot. I'm into CRPGs.
