After work couch RPGish game?

I am looking for something to play while sitting on the couch using a controller. Mac support would be nice, but PC / Linux works as well.

Something along the lines of a JRPG, where you walk around and do... well, typical RPG stuff. Preferably something with a story. I tried Stardew Valley, but playing it actually felt more like a chore than actually unwinding. I just want to have somewhat of a progress curve.

I enjoyed playing Skyrim, just walking around and running into random encounters and not caring about the main questline at all.
